Media Access
This webpage describes and outlines Ainmhícon policy on media access to and around the convention. This webpage describes what media access entails, how to request access, the rules that are accepted when gaining media access and what is allowed and restricted under this policy.
Ainmhícon acknowledges the interest there may be in our event from the media. However, due to the nature of the convention and space, we prioritise the safety and entertainment of our attendees, before media interest. This also means we have limited time to engage with the media through the convention as a business. Therefore, for the interest and comfort of our attendees, we do not generally grant media access to the convention and also advise our attendees to not engage with media personnel outside of the event.
As established, we do not allow media or press access to our convention, and will refuse access to unauthorised individuals. Requests for access can however be made by emailing [email protected] where your request will be taken for consideration.Where access is granted, the rules and regulations of a media pass must be followed. The pass will only be valid for a limited amount of time on a specific day, which will be described in a written confirmation, as well as relayed again on the day. At the convention, media representatives must be wearing a media pass at all times, which must be visible to all individuals. Any representative seen to be circumventing these rules, by either not disclosing they are a media representative, or posing as an attendee, will be immediately escorted from the premises and registration and any other costs revoked.
Rules For Media Representatives
• Permission to film, record or interview is limited to a location and time, which will be communicated prior and also must be adhered to.• Activity must not affect convention happenings• Activity must not affect convention attendees• Media representatives must get freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous permission from interviewed/recorded attendees, following Irish Law GDPR.• No Media will be allowed access to any part of the con where recording is banned (Fursuit Lounge and Dealers Den)• Must request media access at least 30 days prior to the event.• Attendees and Event runners have every right to refuse interview, and must be allowed to ask for footage/interview content from themselves to be erased before publishing.
